Caramel goodness...

I've mentioned plenty of times that I LOVE ANYTHING CARAMEL related, right?
Well, tonight we had a family dinner at O'Charleys and I COULD NOT RESIST THIS SLICE OF HEAVEN...
Just look at that beauty!
(I ordered it without the chocolate chips of course, which made it even better!)
YUUUUUUUM!!!

My cousin, Jamie, who lives over 500 miles away actually SURPRISED US and showed up at dinner!!!!!!! What a wonderful Saturday evening! We had no idea she was coming!
After dinner, we chatted and caught up with her...good times!

Side note: Have yall seen these ADORABLE ketchup packets? They had them on campus and I just HAD to snap a pic...
SO PRECIOUS!
and talk about convenient...all you have to do is peel and dip whatever you're eating right in the package!!!!

I actually ate lunch with my brother that day and it was really nice. We had a good heart to heart! We have such crazy schedules, that we hardly ever get to see each other...so I cherished this time...
Love brother-sister-bonding!

Primal Strips

Primal Strips was kind enough to send me some of their products to try and review on my blog.

A little information about them from their website:

Primal Spirit was founded by walking buddies with a mutual interest in vegetarianism and world travel. On our trips around the world, we'd often come in contact with superior meat alternative food offerings not available in the American market.

We at Primal Spirit believe that a meat alternative product should be completely satisfying to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian diners. Doing that requires that a product have the texture, and great flavor of real meat.

Teriyaki 9/10. Flavor was good...texture took some getting used to but i liked it. I loved that it had 11 grams of protein!!

Texas BBQ- 10/10 Flavor was awesome! Loved the BBQ taste!

Thai Peanut, Hickory Smoked- 3/10 – These flavors were very bland. Did not like them too much.

Mesquite Lime, Hot & Spicy, – 3/10 – I don’t like spicy stuff, so these flavors were not my favorite.

The texture took some getting used to. I definitely recommend these to all my vegan friends out there! They are a great alternative.

CORN MAZE FUN!!!!!

This past Saturday, my friends and I had a BLAST at the corn maze! I haven't had an extremely fun afternoon with friends in a longggg time! It feels like school and homework is all I do sometimes, so taking a break and just acting like a goofball was JUST what I needed!
:)

That's one of my roomies in the corn hole..haha

I'm not sure exactly what these things were called, but I definitely had to test them out. Keep in mind I was the only one over the age of 12 that played in them...haha It was fun!

That's me in the corn hole this time! My bestie, Krissy, and her cutie patootie baby, Daniel!

The gang for the day: Matt, Daniel, Me, Rachel, and Simon.
Not pictured: Krissy and her brother, Michael.

We also went on a hayride, rode on the swings, and went down a huge slide that went underground! What a fun day!
:)

Have you been to a corn maze this year?

Random thoughts of the week...

So...this week has been a little crazy.
Monday and Tuesday I observed all day in a second grade class for my second placement.
I LOVED THE TEACHER AND CLASS!!!
They were all so sweet.
The school is WAY MORE laid back than my first placement.
I like both of the classes, but I think I would actually prefer to work at the second school.
But, I know it's only been a few days in each class and next semester will really determine where I feel more comfortable. I am just really thankful that both of my teachers are AWESOME!!
:)

Awesome deal: I found these HUGE bottles of Vitamins BUY ONE GET ONE FREE!
They don't expire until 2014, so they were an awesome deal!
I take one of them daily along with calcium pills.
Remember when I found this awesome deal for calcium pills too?

I went on a first date last night. We did dinner and bowling.
It was fun, don't get me wrong, but good grief, some guys are so immature!
Acting like a big kid is cute every now and then, but ALL THE TIME?????? Not cute!

Ready for another first date... haha

Banana Nut Bread for ONE

I LOVE Banana Bread...
I saw a recipe on Julie's blog and decided to make my own version with ingredients I already had on hand...
Link

What you need:
Instant Pack of Oatmeal (I had Raisin Apple Walnut flavor)
half a banana
pinch of baking powder
sprinkle (or lots of sprinkles) of cinnamon
nonstick cooking spray
oven safe dish
bowl to stir ingredients

Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Stir oats, baking powder and cinnamon together in a bowl
  3. Add banana and mix until everything is combined and no clumps of banana remain
  4. Spray oven safe dish with cooking spray and pour batter into pan
  5. Bake 15- 18 minutes, until loaf is set and springs back when touched lightly on top
Result:

Let me just tell you, the aroma coming from the oven was incredible! It smelled sooooooo good.
Then, even better was the taste!
:)

I love that this is an easy to make recipe and a single serving size.
Great for all the single ladies!

BUT..
.
If I had a boyfriend, I would totally make one for him to0...just sayin...
