I grew up playing softball and basketball. If you told me 10 years ago that I would be DANCING at a Vanderbilt Half Time Show, I would have said you were crazy.
After I quit basketball and softball when I was 13, I definitely became more of a girlie girl instead of a tomboy.
Fast forward 8 years.
I tried out Zumba for the first time at the YMCA and fell in love. After doing that for several months, a new class came on the schedule.
DANCE IT OUT.
It's just like Zumba, but only MODERN POP songs are used. I didn't think it could get any better than Zumba, but when you throw in music that I know and love and can sing along to, oh it definitely does!
Don't get me wrong, I still love Zumba, but there is just something extra special about DANCE IT OUT.
Lots of people asked if I was nervous, and my answer was NO! I didn't care what people thought of me, I just went out there and had a blast! I even messed up a couple times, but I just laughed it off. What's the point in getting all flustered and upset at yourself?
They told us that we would be dancing to 2 songs, Sweat and Sexy & I Know It. The first song was Sweat and everything was fine, but the second song they played was Hey Baby. I knew that dance, but it threw me off guard because I was expecting to hear Sexy & I Know It. So, I was a little behind and totally missed the part where you are supposed to drop to the floor. HAHA! Oh well, I just like to say I did that so I could stand out!
;)
My mom caught some good action shots, and took video of the 2 songs that we danced to.

The first half of the video is the song, "Sweat."
Half way through, it switches to "Hey Baby."
(If you wanna chuckle, definitely pay attention to the first part of Hey Baby because that's where I totally mess up. haha)
Have you ever done something that you NEVER thought you would???

Looks like fun! Go you, girl!
I definitely would not worry about your mess up! I see many other gals off! Great job!!
ahhh! that looks like so much fun! I grew up in dancing/gymnastics and have been DYING to check out a class as an adult.
You may have just inspired me to march down to the local YMCA.
Run a marathon! Even as I was heading in to Central Park at mile 24 I said to my husband (Cheering me on like a champ) "This is really happening." Best feeling in the world to conquer something. GREAT JOB! That takes a lot of guts AND rhythm!
Haha thats awesome! Way to go girl! Is this just a class you take at your gym? Looks like a blast.
Thanks everyone! It's a group fitness class at my gym and I absolutely LOVE IT! :)
