Rockin' Refuel Chocolate Milk + Wheaties Combo

Wheaties reached out to us about trying a new combo and sharing on our blog. Well, Jared LOVES anything chocolate, so he was all for it!

We were not compensated for this post, just sent product. All opinions are our own.

For more than 90 years, Wheaties has been the “breakfast of champions” featuring some of the world’s most recognizable sports stars for their incredible feats and inspiring stories on the iconic box. But, it’s the whole grains inside that fuels both elite and every day athletes to perform their best.

After our workouts, we always drink 20g of protein in a shake. Jared tried a sip of the Rockin' Refuel protein fortified chocolate milk (which has 20g of protein) by itself and thought it was okay, but then mixed it in a bowl with Wheaties and he loved the combo! It was something he never thought of doing but wished he did. It was unique and different than just drinking a protein shake.

If you would like to win some Rockin' Refuel and Wheaties for yourself, just enter the Rafflecopter below.

Good luck!

Baking is Yummy with NuNaturals

NuNaturals sent us different flavors of their Stevia to review.
We were not compensated for this post, just sent product. All opinion are our own.

We love experimenting in the kitchen with healthy energy bites, so thanks to NuNaturals, we were able to add some fun flavors in some of our recent recipes!

Cherry Vanilla Energy Bites
I mixed up all of the following ingredients in the food processor:
1/2 cup Coconut Flour
1/2 cup Peanuts
1/2 Cup Crispy Rice Cereal
1/3 cup Yogurt
~10 drops of Cherry Vanilla NuStevia

Then,  I rolled the mixture into bite sized balls.

I like to store them in the freezer so they won't go bad if you can't eat them right away, and also, I like the texture of them better when they've just been sitting on the counter for a few minutes before eaten. YUM!
The Cherry Vanilla flavor made it taste like a dessert! We also like to eat a couple after dinner for a sweet treat.

I previously posted these recipes using NuNaturals. Click on the names to see the full recipes!

We also like putting a drop in our oatmeal, yogurt, and even our water for a little splash of flavor!

If you check out their website, you will find TONS OF RECIPES to try!

I made the Cherry Vanilla Popcorn one night and it was AWESOME!!

Please let me know any recipes that you have made with them! We love trying new recipes!!!

The Runner's Choice

Kevin from Trusted Health Products reached out to us to review The Runner’s Choice on our blog. We were not compensated for this post, just sent product. All opinions are our own.

Here's some info about The Runner's Choice:
The Runner’s Choice is for the discomfort of sore feet. It is designed for people that are on their feet all day or for people that run 3 miles or more at a time. After you try this product the first time, you will be back for more.

The Runner’s Choice is scientifically formulated with 100% natural botanical oils of almond, eucalyptus, eucalytol, wintergreen, peppermint, and spearmint. Unlike many commercial creams and lotions, the botanical oils in The Runner’s Choice are very easily received through the pores in the skin, with simple topical application, and no rubbing.

DIRECTIONS
Apply to feet immediately before and after running, jogging, or when you will be on your feet for long periods of time. Coat the bottom of your feet, between the toes and the top and 2 inches above the ankle for best results. Do not rub in (rubbing is not required for effectiveness). Wash hands after use. Avoid contact with eyes and other sensitive tissue. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use on open wounds.
Unlike many commercial creams and lotions, which require rubbing in, the botanical oils in The Runner’s Choice are most effective with gentle topical application, and no rubbing. The body recognizes the natural properties of these botanicals, and receives them very well as they gently soak through the pore openings in the outer layer (epidermis) of the skin.

Our Review:

While we do not run everyday, we are on our feet ALL DAY LONG at golf tournaments and Jared is on his feet all day long even when he's just practicing. First of all, this product smelled SO GOOD and refreshing. It was a great way to start the day when we had to wake up at 5am for an early morning tee time on the weekend that I caddied for Jared. It was easy to apply and go! After the round was over, we applied more, and we felt like our feet weren't sore like they can get sometimes. We will definitely use this for tournaments and for those BEACH RUNS that we are going to start doing soon because the weather is AWESOME here!!!! Gotta admit, it's pretty cool that we are only a 10 min drive away from the beach now!

Sneak in Veggies with this Squash Muffin Recipe

Hello! Today, I have an EASY way to sneak some veggies into your day! I've created another recipe using Anti-Grain Flour and some new goodies as well.

Dry Ingredients:
1 cup Squash Flour (Buy some here!
5 Little Packets of NuStevia Powder
Dash of Baking Powder and Cinnamon

Wet Ingredients:
1 Ripe Banana
1/3 cup of Almond Butter
3/4 cup of Cashew Milk (you can use whatever milk you prefer)

Directions: First, throw all of your dry ingredients into the blender. Then, add in all of the wet ingredients. While that is blending, spray about 9 muffin tins with nonstick spray. Next, pour the batter into the muffin tins. Finally, bake at 400*F for about 15 minutes or so. (I did the fork test at the end to see if they were ready or not. If the batter sticks to the fork, leave them in there for a few more minutes.)

These muffins are moist and you can't really even taste the Squash, so I'm sure kids would love them as well!

What's your favorite way to sneak veggies into your day? Let me know in the comments below!

Our Review:
B-Up: WOW! These bars were incredibly delicious! They actually tasted like the dessert on the package! Jared and I were both shocked at how good they tasted! We ate them at the golf course and at my nanny job and we both gave them two thumbs up! They are great on the go snacks, and also a great way to curb a craving for a dessert in a healthier way!

The B-Jammin bars were filled with a fruity jam in the middle and were quite tasty as well. They were a great snack in between meals.

Almond Butter Sweet Potato Bread

Today, while Jared was at a Qualifier, I got creative in the kitchen. A few months ago, I made Fannetastic Food's Healthy Peanut Butter Banana Bread and it was a HUGE hit at our house.

I wanted to use the Anti-Grain Sweet Potato Flour somehow, so I decided to tweak her recipe a little and come up with a new one!

So, this is what I did:

Wet:
  • 1C water
  • 1/3 C Almond Butter
  • 1/3 cup Egg Whites
  • 2 ripe bananas (one of mine was frozen, but it still worked!)
Dry:
  • 1  C whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 Cup Sweet Potato Flour
  • 3/4 C oats
  • 5 little packets of NuNaturals Stevia
  • Sprinkle of baking powder
  • Generous Sprinkling of cinnamon

I threw all of the wet ingredients into the Food Processor. At the same time, I mixed all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Then, I poured the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stirred. Next, I sprayed a loaf pan with nonstick spray, and poured the mixture into it. Then, I sprinkled some oats on top. Finally, I baked it at 350*F for about an hour.

Gotta admit, I am definitely taking a slice for my snack at work today! Jared will just have to wait til he gets home later tonight!
:)

New Recipes with Anti-Grain Flour

Have you ever heard of Anti-Grain Flour? They have three different types of flour that are made from just apples, sweet potatoes, and squash. They are perfect for those who are paleo, grain-free, wheat-free, gluten-free, or just cutting back on grains.

We experimented with all of the flours and had success with 2/3 of the recipes!
First up was the Apple Flour.
We just mixed the following ingredients into our food processor and let it whirl:
1 cup apple flour
1/3 cup raisins
1/3 cup vanilla yogurt
sprinkle of cinnamon
1 banana

*Note*
The batter is really gooey, but it still tastes good! Don't worry!

Just spray some nonstick spray in about 8 muffin tins and distribute the batter.

Bake for about 10-15 min at 400*F.

Voila! Apple Muffins! These babies are sweeeeeeeeet. We didn't even add any type of sugar and they were like dessert! YUUUUUM!!!

 ******************************************

Next up, we threw the following ingredients into the food processor:
1 cup squash flour
1 banana
1 tsp of NuNaturals Cocoa Syrup
Sprinkle of baking powder

Spray muffin tins with nonstick spray and bake at 400*F for about 10-15 min.

These cocoa muffins were a hit with the chocolate lovers in the house, so much, that I didn't have time to snap a picture before some were eaten! (This recipe made 6 muffins)

Our sweet potato pancakes didn't turn out like we hoped. We added to much water to the mixture and it was game over. We are working on perfecting that recipe, so when we do, I'll be sure to post it on my Instagram!

Please visit Anti-Grain's website and order some of this awesome flour for yourself.
