Our Journey to Web.Com Tour Q-School Final Stage 2015

What a year this has been! God has blessed us so much and we are so thankful. Today, we wanted to share a little recap of what went on this season and how God allowed us to be in the position to play in the Web.Com Tour Q-School Final Stage next weekend!
We were so excited that Jared finished T4 at the Canada Tour Q-School in April. We had a little over one month to prepare for the summer apart while Jared played in Canada. His first tournament was May 31 and he made the cut with a T38 finish. The following week, he finished T47.

He had two weeks off, played in a local scramble, and made a HOLE IN ONE!

He also played in a mini tour event in Tallahassee, where a lot of the Kemmer side of the family lives, so he got to stay at Uncle David's house for free that week and I was able to come over after work on Friday night and caddy for his final round on Saturday! He made a double eagle that day and shot 7 under on Saturday alone!

He headed back up to Canada and got a weird stomach/cold/flu symptoms and ended up withdrawing from the tournament because he felt so bad. If you really know Jared, he never quits, so for him to withdrawal was a big deal. He got some much needed rest in the hotel and felt better for the next tournament when I came up for a visit! It was 4th of July week and we made sure to represent the USA well. :)
He didn't make the cut that week, but it was great just to be together after spending so much time apart. Most of the summer was spent like this:
So thankful for technology! We are really getting better at our communication and our walk with God is growing every single day. We are so grateful for God and His solid foundation in our marriage. We have grown so much over the last two years and we are both doing our part to make this crazy golf life easier. Jared finished T14 the following week and missed the cut the next, before they had a break and he was able to come home for two weeks.

He missed the next two cuts, but at the Great Waterway Classic, he was tied for 6th on Friday. I flew in Saturday and made it just in time to watch his last hole. He had a rough round that day and shot even, but it didn't help his position move up any on the leader board. I caddied for him the next day and he shot 5 under to finish at T19.

We had to get a picture with one of our sponsors, Nature's Bakery Fig Bars!

He missed the cut the next week, but we took advantage of the time together and made the most out of it. We explored downtown Toronto and had a blast!
I flew back home and Jared played one more tournament and finished T53. He ended up number 81 on the money list, so unfortunately, it didn't earn him any status for next year. But, we kept our heads held high because we knew that God's plan is the best plan!

Jared came home and we immediately started packing because we moved to a new apartment that was closer to my job and the main course that Jared practices.

After that week of moving and getting settled in, Jared was busy getting ready for 1st Stage of Web.Com Tour Q-School. He prepared well, because he advanced to 2nd stage with a T4 finish!

He had a month in between 1st and 2nd stage, so he played in a few mini tour events to stay in competition mode.  I was able to caddy for his first round because it was on a Sunday. I went home and he finished playing on Monday and Tuesday and finished in 3rd place!

On November 17, Jared had a crazy first round at 2nd Stage. He shot 5 over, but God helped him fight back and he went 2 under Wednesday, 2 under Thursday, and 5 under on Friday to ADVANCE TO FINAL STAGE IN DECEMBER!!!

My little buddy that I nanny LOVES Jared and was super excited to hear how many birdies he made! :)

God is so good and we are so grateful that He is allowing us to head back to Final Stage this year. Jared's professional caddy from his year on the Web.Com is going to make it to finals this year and carry his bag.

After Jared finished 2nd stage, he took a couple days off and we had a blast being together! We watched the PGA Tour Event on Saturday with his parents.

He's been working hard and I am so proud of him! After Thanksgiving, we took a little trip down to West Palm Beach so he could get in some extra practice rounds at the courses he will be playing next week. I was very thankful to be able to tag along since I was off from work.

No matter what happens at Final Stage, GOD IS GOOD! He's got it all under control. This is all for HIS glory!

Our High Protein Plan + Health Test Results + A GIVEAWAY!

After this summer, Jared and I started feeling a little more sluggish, so we decided to change up our eating routine for a little refresher. Jared found an Athletic High Protein plan online and we followed it as closely as we could, with some modifications. With my past history of not eating enough and counting calories, Jared was the only one to look at the website so I wouldn't get caught up in the number game again. This plan was AWESOME because you didn't have to count any calories, the whole goal was to focus on getting at least 20g of protein at each meal and we ate 5 meals per day. Y'all know we love to eat, so this was our kinda meal plan!
Here's a sample day of eats on the plan:
Pre-Workout: Healthy PB bites or Banana and PB
M1:  Oatmeal + Egg Whites with 1 egg and fruit
On the days we did a strength training workout, we added protein to our eggs and oatmeal to kick that number up higher!

M2: Chicken and Broccoli
M3: Chicken Salad made with Greek Yogurt, Corn, and a Sweet Potato
M4: Protein Shake
M5: Chicken and Veggie Stir Fry

Each day, the menu was a little different. Breakfasts were always changing and we even had smoothie bowls every Thursday morning!

Being part of the Sweat Pink community, I was given the opportunity to review these new Meal Enders:

We only ate them after a meal when we were still a little hungry.

MealEnders consist of two components: a sweet, outer reward layer and a cooling/tingling inner core. The outer layer provides a measured dose of “dessert” associated with the end of a meal, while the inner core engages the trigeminal nerve (the nerve that senses “taste”) with long-lasting cooling/tingling sensations that cleanse the palate.

(Side note, Jared and I are extremely fast eaters, so this actually helped us a lot! We learned to slow down and enjoy each bite. Now, we don't have to use the Meal Enders to cue our brain! Win!)

If you use the code FitHolidays20 you can get 20% off at  MealEnders.com

**Be sure to keep scrolling to the bottom of this post for a chance to WIN some Meal Enders for yourself! One bag of each flavor, Cinnamon, Mint Chocolate, Mocha, and Citrus!**

Each week, we chose one TREAT meal to enjoy. One week, we recreated the most epic panini we ate this summer up in Canada. It had ham, double cream brie cheese, caramelized onion, and apple slices. IT WAS SO GOOD!

We have a few pros and cons of the plan and wanted to share with you.

Cons:
1. It's expensive to eat so much meat!
2. You have to clean SO MANY dishes and tupperware containers.
3. Prepping food ahead of time takes a while.
4. We missed cheese and sauces and healthy fats! haha (We definitely added some avocado to a few meals just because we felt our bodies telling us we needed it)

Pros:
1. We FELT so much better just after the first day!
2. We gained some lean muscle.
3. Being the Type A planner that I am, I liked the fact that I didn't have to think about what to pack for lunch and make for dinner each day. It was already done for me!
4. There wasn't any calorie counting at all!
5. We felt full after pretty much every meal, with the exception of a few times.
6. We no longer feel sluggish.
7. We have cut way down on excess snacking.
8. We ENJOY our food more instead of inhaling it like it's going to be gone if we don't eat it super fast.
9. Treat meal was always so awesome because we had something to REALLY look forward to every week!

After the month was over, we took a health test to see how we were doing overall.

We were THRILLED to see what we both had great blood pressure, good cholesterol, and blood sugar.
I just have to add in the fun fact that I did score ONE point higher than Jared for the total!!
We timed the month PERFECTLY as Jared headed to 2nd Stage Q-School the day after it was over. The last thing he needs is to worry about meal prep and counting protein at a golf tournament! He is still eating healthy during the week though. :)

Also, our FitSnack box came the day we were ending the plan too, so we could dig right into the awesome goodies!

I immediately made some more peanut butter bites with the Hemp Hearts thrown in and this delicious baked oatmeal with the Super Oats and Protein Bite Fuel on top! SOOOO GOOD!

Refresh Summit '15

Refresh Summit '15 was INCREDIBLE! This retreat was JUST what I needed in order to be refreshed, rejuvenated, and pumped up for this upcoming crazy golf season!

Friday morning started early and we packed the car full of Nature's Bakery Fig Bars to share!!!

(Gotta give hubs a big shout out first... He drove the entire trip there and back with the exception of me driving for a two and a half hour spurt! He dropped me off on Friday around 5, drove to Clarksville to spend the night with my family, got up early on Saturday and drove two hours to his golf lesson, then drove another 2 hours to Louisville to spend the night with his family, only to turn right back around Sunday morning to come pick me up at noon! It was a jam packed weekend for Jared, but filled with love and a golf lesson, oh and tons of quality time in the car with his best friend singing and having a good ol' time)

This is my new workout shirt I scored for only $10!

I loved our devotionals each morning. I want to be physically strong in my body, but even more strong spiritually!

The food was super tasty! The lodge had chefs come in and cook us dinner each night! YUM!

The snacks were plentiful all weekend! Everyone LOVED the Fig bars! They were a HUGE hit! :)

I got in some awesome workouts! Lindsay taught a bootcamp, Ashley taught Barre, and Amia taught Zumba! My legs were on fire after all that!

We even had an 80's Zumba GLOW Dance Party! We had glowsticks and bracelets and danced our hearts out!

I loved meeting Ashley! She is awesome and we actually grew up in the same town! She is 3 years older than me, and we went to the same highschool, but she graduated in the spring before I started going in the fall. She is also good friends with one of my college roomies! SMALL WORLD! Oh, and she's the one who taught the Barre workout.... KICKED MY BUTT!

I ended up winning a package of Lenny and Larry's Protein Cookies! They were definitely opened on the long drive home. Snickerdoodle has my heart!

Overall, the weekend was incredible and I was so thankful I got birthday money to help pay for the trip! God has truly blessed the Wolfepack!!!

I only had ONE complaint... it was COLD for this Florida gal! ;)  Everyone up north was talking about how warm it was and I was talking about how I was freezing since I stepped foot out of the car! HAHAHA! It really wasn't TOO cold, but man, I sure do love being able to lay out at the pool in the middle of November at our condo!!!

Over the weekend, God revealed to me that I am TRULY MADE IN HIS IMAGE. I don't need to feel pressured by the world to look, act, or think a certain way. God made me unique and created me to be JUST the way I am!

It was really neat to meet up with some of the girls from last year and see how much they have been up to over the past year! God is doing some amazing things in all of them and I am so thankful for their friendships!!

Thank you to all the sponsors who donated to the retreat and the incredible hosts who organized everything! LOVE YOU ALL!

Recent Eats!

Hello! Today we wanted to share a few of our recent eats with everyone!

First up, we are halfway through our new eating plan and we are loving it! It's HIGH PROTEIN with frequent smaller meals. For breakfast one day, we made a delicious protein puff and it's SUPER EASY to make!

All you need is oatmeal, egg whites, and protein powder.

Spray a microwave safe bowl with nonstick spray, pour in your oats, eggwhites, and protein. You can play with the measurements for yourself, but we used about 1/4 ~ 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup eggwhites, and a 4th of a scoop of protein powder. Just mix it all up and zap in the microwave for about 2 minutes. The total protein count for this recipe is OVER 20 grams! :)

Of course, we always find some AWESOME new snacks in our FitSnack Box each month!
This month, our favorite was the Caveman Foods Chicken Primal Bar! It had a cherry flavor to it and it was packed with 18g of protein! All of the snacks are nutritious and healthy and taste awesome! Go check it out for yourself!
If you sign up, you will receive a free gym bag! Fun stuff!

We were also blessed with another LOVE DROP! Thank you Love Grown Foods for all the nutritious and delicious breakfast foods!

We were not compensated for this post, just sent free product from Purely Inspired, FitSnack and LoveGrown. All opinions are our own!
