Organic products are certified Organic by NH Dept. of Agriculture, Markets and Food

I chose the Mac & Cheese with Veggies,  Farmhouse Mac & Cheese, and Chicken Pot Pie to review.

First, I must say that I thought these were really small and wouldn't fill me up, but surprisingly, they did! I ate some carrots along side one meal for lunch and I was fine until my usual snack time around 3 :)

The Mac & Cheese with Veggies was my FAVORITE!
The cheese was great and the added veggies just gave it OOMPH!

Farmhouse Mac & Cheese
I didn't like this one as much as the Mac & Cheese with Veggies, but it was still good. I wasn't a fan of the breadcrumbs on top. I think it was a texture thing for me, so if you like breadcrumbs on top, I'm sure you will LOVE this too!

Chicken Pot Pie
I LOVED the crust on this pot pie! So flaky and tasty! YUM! The filling inside was very tasty as well!

Super SEVEN Surprise Giveaway!!!

Before I talk about the giveaway, I just wanted to share what I've been up to lately...

I was in a FLASH MOB!!!!

It was SO much fun! My DANCE IT OUT class at the YMCA participated in it. We danced in the middle of the "Taste of Country Festival". The songs we danced to were "Sexy and I Know It" and "Cricket on a Line".

That has always been on my bucket list, and I can finally scratch it off! If the opportunity comes up again, I will DEFINITELY participate!!! It was a blast!!!

I watched Myrtle play in her little golf tournament and SHE WON her division!!! SO proud of her!

Jared and I were originally not supposed to see each other for another two weeks due to his golf schedule, but we just couldn't make it that long... I made a mini-trip to see him for a few days and I got to meet his buddy, Chris! He was super nice and it was great hanging out with him too! We went to ORANGE LEAF for fro-yo one night and it was the bomb! White Chocolate Strawberry is my NEW FAVORITE!!! MMM!!!

I got to see Jared's sweet niece, nephew, and sister for one meal on my mini trip! Love hanging out with his family! They are wonderful! Charlotte is my little buddy! :) Love his whole family!!

I also got to have another workout session with COREY TAYLOR'S SPORTS PERFORMANCE!!! I love working out with Jared's trainer because he pushes me and makes me work hard! This time, I did stuff that I've ALWAYS wanted to do!!!

2. Pushed weighted sleds
3. Ran sprints with sandbags tied to a rope
We also did traditional planks and pushups, etc...

I am STILL feeling the burn and LOVE it!!!

Y'all know I am obsessed with the number SEVEN, so when I noticed that I was getting close to seven hundred twitter followers, I thought, I should have a giveaway when I reach 707!!!! Well, I finally did, so it's time for the giveaway!

Jay Robb Protein Review

Jay Robb Protein sent me some products to review!

Here's some info about the company from their website:
Jay Robb uses the highest grade of whey protein possible when creating the best-tasting whey protein powder. This unique process also yields a whey protein isolate that is much higher in protein than a whey protein concentrate and is also rich in immunoglobulins, alpha-lactalbumin, and beta-lactoalbumin and other immune boosting factors. Jay Robb's Whey Protein is made from the finest natural ingredients available and delivers 25 grams of first class protein, 0-fat, 0-cholesterol, 0-sugars, and only 1 gram of carbohydrate per 30 gram serving. Only cold-processed cross-flow microfiltered whey protein isolate is used as the protein source and this material comes from farm-raised, pasture-grazed, grass-fed cows not treated with the synthetic bovine growth hormone rBGH.

Jay Robb Egg White Protein powder is unique and famous for its natural flavor systems. The egg white protein raw material is derived from chickens not treated with growth hormones. The protein is flash pasteurized for safety, with no additional heating used during the final processing. One taste of our easy-to-mix delicious Vanilla Egg White Protein, and you’ll be a fan for life!

My Review:

First of all, I just have to say, "WOAH! THIS STUFF IS CRAZY GOOD!"

I loved that there were so many unique flavors that you don't normally find in a protein powder...

This is my order of my favorites:
Pina Colada
Tropical Dreamsicle

Jared used the chocolate in his smoothies and he liked it!

The texture of the protein powder was AWESOME. It was very smooth and didn't leave clumps like some of the other powders I've used before...

I used the blender ball bottle that they sent me to mix up the powder with water after my workouts!

They also have AMAZINGLY tasty bars!
They were full of deliciousness and PROTEIN!!!

Please visit their website and try some for yourself!

Talk to me... What flavor sounds best to you?

Hard Work = Results!

So, I already did a post awhile ago about how STRONG IS THE NEW SKINNY...

I cannot stress enough how much better it feels to be STRONG instead of just skin and bones.

But, today, I wanted to show you the results of HARD WORK and proper nutrition.

Thanks to my wonderful boyfriend, I have not only switched up my strength training routine, but I have also eaten more protein than I ever have before! and let me tell you, it feels SO GOOD!!!

I added more shoulder, back, and leg exercises to my routine.

Being FIT feels great! I don't EVER want to go back to being skin and bones!

I also mentioned that I have been eating MORE and I haven't gained weight. I've just added lean muscle!

Jared recommends that I eat a good amount of protein within 45 minutes of my workout so that my muscles are fed the proper nutrients, and let me tell ya, he is SO RIGHT!

Here is an example of what I eat around my workout:

Before Workout: Yogurt Mess (cereal, fruit and yogurt mixed together! SO TASTY!)
Immediately following workout: Protein Shake or Protein Bar (try to get at least 20 grams of protein)

I am also constantly looking for extra protein in things that I buy at the store now and it's paid off!

Talk to me... what do you eat for protein?
Do you eat within 45 minutes of your workout?

Been loving reviewing lots of yummy products! Stay tuned for the reviews!

Jared and I went on our first road trip together last week. We went to Georgia and had a fun few days with his parents! He got new golf clubs, we had a day on the boat, his mom and I had girl time while Jared and his dad golfed. It was pure enjoyment!

We had some fun on the road for sure! haha

I got the next book in my FAVORITE series by Karen Kingsbury! So excited to be reading it! I've been dying to find out what happens to Bailey and Brandon and Cody and their love triangle!

I finally got to wear my new GOLF CLOTHES! :) Jared and I played 9 holes at the public course here in town. We didn't keep score since I haven't played an ACTUAL game of golf since I was like 10 or 12 years old. I didn't do tooooo bad, but it definitely wasn't good either! haha

Healthy Surprise Box Review

Healthy Surprise is an awesome way to check out new healthy snacks available!

Each month, Healthy Surprise collects a fine selection of the most delicious and healthy snacks available. The snackologists carefully pair different snacks together, providing an unexpected blend of savory, spicy, and sweet snacks.

Science has proven you eat the foods that are around you. Use our snack delivery system to surround you and your family with the best food possible.

Q & A with Joe Winke, Founder & Chief Snackologist

Q    -   Do you taste all the snacks that are offered in your packages?
A    -   Yes, as the Chief Snackologist, I taste everything. My COO and fellow snackologist, Tiffany Paralta also tries everything. We work out of a coworking space in Santa Monica, the Coloft and many of the members are clients. We let many of them try things as well and get a general sense of whether the snack will have appeal and as a perk to them. We rate all of the snacks and take notes on them, and then put them up on in our snack library where we keep all of our snack wrappers :)

Q    -   Do you have any advice about healthy eating?
A    -   I like to think of eating healthy as a muscle. Its really hard to just 'switch over' to eating 'all healthy'. You have to work your way towards a cleaner diet and get your discipline and palate stronger. Tastes actually change and people come to crave healthier foods and dislike unhealthier foods. I like to tell people who ask that the first step is to just start eating "food". Only eat things where you can name everything in your meal, and you can mentally visualize each ingredient. If you do that, you're ahead of 95% of the people in this country. Counting calories and carbohydrates are a distraction. Its a way of getting people to think its OK to eat processed garbage, as long as they use a certain system for meting out how much garbage they are allowed to eat.

Q    -   Short bio about the company
A    -   I came up with the idea when a friend of mine sent me a box of healthy foods with a card in it for my birthday a couple years ago. When Startup Weekend LA came around last August, I thought that Healthy Surprise was a business concept I could execute in a weekend. My goals were to a) accept online payments b) find a customer c) deliver a product.
We started coding at 8pm and at 11:03am the next morning, Cameron Webb was our first client. I then proceeded to source healthy snacks over the weekend and made an assortment of boxes. We even made custom stencils and spray painted them to make them unique.
At the end of the event, on Sunday, during and after my presentation i sold over $700 in subscriptions, totally selling out all of the product I had.
I maintained it as a side project until about three weeks later. I'm able to chat with visitors to my site with a little widget I installed. It gives me basic information about who's on my site, including what browser they are using and a rough location. I saw: United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi). I started the chat with "Why is someone from Abu Dhabi on Healthy Surprise!?" - I couldn't believe it. Turns out it was a natural internet lead - she had read a blog, where she clicked on a link which took her to a site which lead her to Healthy Surprise. As we were chatting, she signed up for a $99/month Large Surprise Box. This was literally as far away on the planet you could be and someone signed up for a Large Surprise! I knew I was on to something when this happend, and the next day found a warehouse. I placed a call to Tiffany and hired her on the spot! We've been going ever since!

I thought this was such a neat idea! What could be better than receiving healthy snacks at your doorstep every month?

My favorite snack in this month's box was definitely the Hail Merry Orange and Rosemary Pecans! It was  such a unique flavor! DELICIOUS!

I highly encourage you to check out the Healthy Surprise Box for yourself!

I even have a special promo code for you to use so you can get an unlimited $5 off in EVERY Healthy Surprise Purchase!

Happy Snacking!

Easy Pizza Quesadillas

If you're anything like me, you like to make meals that are quick and easy. Well, these pizza quesadillas are quick and easy and super tasty!!!

I found the recipe on one of my favorite blogs by Rachel. Her blog is called, "This Italian Family". Go check it out!

We changed a few things to create a pizza quesadilla to fit my tastebud preferences.

Pizza Quesadillas

Ragu Pizza Sauce
1 whole wheat tortilla
small handful mozzarella cheese
Deli Ham cut into small pieces
Grilled chicken
 turkey pepperoni slices

1. Heat nonstick pan over medium heat. Fold tortilla in half and spoon sauce onto one side. Layer with cheese and toppings. Close. Microwave for 45 seconds or until cheese has melted.
2. Toss quesadilla in pan for approximately 1-3 minutes or until crispy and slightly brown in color, flip for approximately 1 minute. Slice into pieces and enjoy!
You can choose whatever toppings you would like!
I made mine with Ham and mozzarella cheese with EXTRA sauce.
Jared made his with turkey pepperoni, grilled chicken, and ham!
You can be creative and do whatever you like!

Healthy Cheesy Chicken Enchiladas

Jared and I love to eat healthy and we enjoy cooking together, so we decided to whip up a healthy version of Cheesy Chicken Enchiladas!

We found this recipe on , but changed a few things.
Here is what we did:

  • Ingredients
  • 3 pre-made grilled chicken breast filets (chopped up into tiny pieces)
  • 2 cups (8 ounces) preshredded reduced-fat 4-cheese Mexican blend cheese
  • 1 2/3 cups plain low-fat yogurt
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup salsa
  • (10 3/4-ounce) can condensed reduced-fat, reduced-sodium cream of chicken soup (such as Healthy Request), undiluted
  • whole wheat tortillas
  • Cooking spray

  1. Preparation
  2. 1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  3. 2. Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl. Remove 1 cup chicken mixture; set mixture aside.

  4. 3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Working with 1 tortilla at a time, brush oil over both sides of tortilla. Add tortilla to pan; cook 5 seconds on each side or until toasted and soft. Remove from pan; arrange 1/2 cup chicken mixture down center of tortilla. Roll jelly-roll style; place filled tortilla, seam side down, in a 13 x 9–inch baking dish coated with cooking spray. Repeat procedure with remaining 5 tortillas, remaining oil, and remaining chicken mixture. Spread reserved 1 cup chicken mixture evenly over enchiladas. Cover and bake at 350° for 20 minutes. Uncover; Add salsa to your liking on top of enchiladas. Bake for an additional 5 minutes.

Final Step:

Nextrino Activated Charcoal Tea Tree Soap

I was sent some brand new soap from Nextrino to try and review! It is an activated charcoal tea tree soap that is all natural, vegan, and ...
