Post Christmas Re-Gift Party

This year, we hosted a Post Christmas "Re-gift" Party. We stole the idea from our friends that did one last year. Each person brings a gift that they've received that they don't need/want or have duplicates. We had 3 other couples that were in town to join us. We had a blast and some yummy eats as well!

I made a simpler version of LightLife's Mexican Dip using what we had at home, which was the Smart Ground Crumbles, Salsa, and Mexican Cheese. All I did was layer the crumbles, then salsa, then cheese on the top. I baked it at 350*F for about 25 minutes. Everyone loved the dip! It was a hit!

Check out their website for even more delicious recipes!

We ate the dip with some Beanitos Chips. We also had Pumpkin Blondies and Pumpkin Spice Fig Bars! I always include Fig Bars at every get together we have because they are just too good and EVERYONE loves them!!! Check out their website and order some for yourself!

On our cruise, we took a genius test and really enjoyed it, so we printed some extras out and had everyone try it. We gave a Medal (from the extras we got on our cruise) to the male and female with the most correct. It was fun to see everyone's concentration as they tried to figure out the answers. You are allowed 10 minutes to try and figure out as many answers as you can. After that, we let each couple go over their answers with their partner to see if they could brainstorm together and get more correct. Everyone enjoyed it, regardless of how many they answered correctly. Here's a link to the Test if anyone wants to try it out!

Next, we played a few rounds of Catch Phrase, which is ALWAYS a good time! I also have to add that the GIRLS won both rounds! YEAHHHH!!! (We weren't competitive at all... #sarcasm)

Then, we ended the night with Dirty Santa for our "re-gifts". Alecia absolutely loved the huge teddy bear that she opened! The other gifts were quite comical and I will not reveal them JUST in case whoever gave the presents reads this blog! haha

We had a wonderful time and it was a fun way to catch up with friends that we hadn't seen in a while due to everyone traveling for Christmas.

*We were sent LightLife product coupons so we could try out their products and write an honest review. We were not compensated for the post, just sent coupons. All opinions are our own.*

Christmas Cruisin' 2015

For Christmas this year, Jared and I went on a cruise! Being in the golf world, we spend a LOT of time apart and this cruise was EXACTLY what we needed. We experienced UNINTERRUPTED quality time to the max! We didn't have to worry about a tournament coming up next week (because Jared finally has about a month off from tournament play) and I was off from work too!

The ship itself CONSTANTLY had something fun going on, so we were never just sitting around. We ate ALL SORTS OF DELICIOUS FOOD (the best part, right?), watched entertaining shows, participated in games and trivia sessions, soaked up the sun, and just enjoyed spending time with each other.

First, here's some food pics, because we all know the food is the best part of a cruise!

We tried so many new foods and our bellies were very happy, especially eating PIZZA at midnight! :)  We stayed up past 11:30pm EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. If you really know us, that is a big deal, because we are usually asleep by 10pm. We also woke up around 7ish each day because we were so excited and didn't want to miss out on any fun!

Each night, they played a few movies on the HUGE screen at the pool. We grabbed some blankets and popcorn (and definitely more pizza) and enjoyed the show!  Side note: if you get cold easily like I do, make sure you pack warm clothes for INSIDE the ship... they crank that AC up!!! I was so glad they had blankets for the Dive In Movies, because I totally took them inside while we watched concerts and did trivia!

Our first port was Grand Turk. It was our favorite port. They had some fun shops and a beautiful beach. Jared snorkeled while I soaked up some sun.

The second port was Half Moon Cay, which is Carnival's private island. There wasn't much there except the beach, so we enjoyed time there just relaxing.

Our last port was Nassau, Bahamas. This was our least favorite stop. They had tons of unique shops and markets, but the people were very pushy and kept annoying us to buy something. It was fun to walk around for a little while, but after that, we went back to the ship.

We saw a Nativity Scene, so we had to snap a picture! Happy Birthday Jesus!

Every night, we found a new towel animal on our bed. We are still trying to figure out what this animal was. If anyone knows, please tell us!! I say it's a turtle, but Jared disagrees.

The towel animals were so neat! Here's a snowman. That's MY kinda snowman, made without SNOW! I hate cold weather!

They had a towel animal seminar, where we learned how to make our very own animals, all by ourselves! It was lots of fun!

These are our very own elephants, although mine turned out more like a puppy.

Once again, thankful for the blankets to stay warm! haha

Because, we just couldn't get away from golf for an entire week... We played putt-putt on the ship ;)

Jared loves to snap goofy pics while I can't see him...

Here's a fancy ice sculpture.

We cannot wait for our next cruise! Time to start saving now!

Lighten Up Your Meals with LightLife

With the Christmas season upon us, Lightlife reached out to us and asked if we would try their products that cater to vegetarian guests.

We are not vegetarian, but we don't mind going meatless a few days a week to save money.

The first night, we made a veggie stir fry with the Smart Ground Beef.

We sauteed veggies and the Smart Ground Beef in coconut oil and mixed it all together for a delicious meal!

It tasted very similar to actual ground beef and was very filling!

Another night, we made a Smart Sausage and Bacon PIZZA, because well, WE LOVE PIZZA!

We made the Smart Bacon just like regular bacon on the skillet until it got crispy, and we sauteed the Gimme Lean Sausage in some olive oil. Then, we put them on top of our crust with lots of sauce and some cheese and it was very tasty!

LightLife wants to share a few side dish recipes with you for your Christmas gatherings:
·         Smart Sausage Stuffing

They also want to offer one of our reader's some FREE coupons to try LightLife for yourself! All you have to do is fill out the Rafflecopter below!

Our Journey to Web.Com Tour Q-School Final Stage 2015

What a year this has been! God has blessed us so much and we are so thankful. Today, we wanted to share a little recap of what went on this season and how God allowed us to be in the position to play in the Web.Com Tour Q-School Final Stage next weekend!
We were so excited that Jared finished T4 at the Canada Tour Q-School in April. We had a little over one month to prepare for the summer apart while Jared played in Canada. His first tournament was May 31 and he made the cut with a T38 finish. The following week, he finished T47.

He had two weeks off, played in a local scramble, and made a HOLE IN ONE!

He also played in a mini tour event in Tallahassee, where a lot of the Kemmer side of the family lives, so he got to stay at Uncle David's house for free that week and I was able to come over after work on Friday night and caddy for his final round on Saturday! He made a double eagle that day and shot 7 under on Saturday alone!

He headed back up to Canada and got a weird stomach/cold/flu symptoms and ended up withdrawing from the tournament because he felt so bad. If you really know Jared, he never quits, so for him to withdrawal was a big deal. He got some much needed rest in the hotel and felt better for the next tournament when I came up for a visit! It was 4th of July week and we made sure to represent the USA well. :)
He didn't make the cut that week, but it was great just to be together after spending so much time apart. Most of the summer was spent like this:
So thankful for technology! We are really getting better at our communication and our walk with God is growing every single day. We are so grateful for God and His solid foundation in our marriage. We have grown so much over the last two years and we are both doing our part to make this crazy golf life easier. Jared finished T14 the following week and missed the cut the next, before they had a break and he was able to come home for two weeks.

He missed the next two cuts, but at the Great Waterway Classic, he was tied for 6th on Friday. I flew in Saturday and made it just in time to watch his last hole. He had a rough round that day and shot even, but it didn't help his position move up any on the leader board. I caddied for him the next day and he shot 5 under to finish at T19.

We had to get a picture with one of our sponsors, Nature's Bakery Fig Bars!

He missed the cut the next week, but we took advantage of the time together and made the most out of it. We explored downtown Toronto and had a blast!
I flew back home and Jared played one more tournament and finished T53. He ended up number 81 on the money list, so unfortunately, it didn't earn him any status for next year. But, we kept our heads held high because we knew that God's plan is the best plan!

Jared came home and we immediately started packing because we moved to a new apartment that was closer to my job and the main course that Jared practices.

After that week of moving and getting settled in, Jared was busy getting ready for 1st Stage of Web.Com Tour Q-School. He prepared well, because he advanced to 2nd stage with a T4 finish!

He had a month in between 1st and 2nd stage, so he played in a few mini tour events to stay in competition mode.  I was able to caddy for his first round because it was on a Sunday. I went home and he finished playing on Monday and Tuesday and finished in 3rd place!

On November 17, Jared had a crazy first round at 2nd Stage. He shot 5 over, but God helped him fight back and he went 2 under Wednesday, 2 under Thursday, and 5 under on Friday to ADVANCE TO FINAL STAGE IN DECEMBER!!!

My little buddy that I nanny LOVES Jared and was super excited to hear how many birdies he made! :)

God is so good and we are so grateful that He is allowing us to head back to Final Stage this year. Jared's professional caddy from his year on the Web.Com is going to make it to finals this year and carry his bag.

After Jared finished 2nd stage, he took a couple days off and we had a blast being together! We watched the PGA Tour Event on Saturday with his parents.

He's been working hard and I am so proud of him! After Thanksgiving, we took a little trip down to West Palm Beach so he could get in some extra practice rounds at the courses he will be playing next week. I was very thankful to be able to tag along since I was off from work.

No matter what happens at Final Stage, GOD IS GOOD! He's got it all under control. This is all for HIS glory!
