New Chapter...

This summer has been an absolute BLAST!! I have gone to FCA Camp, Myrtle Beach, Destin, and I am flying to Minneapolis this weekend! It has been NON-STOP fun!

 I've had a blast with my wonderful boyfriend, Jared, his family, and my family. I've had plenty of POOL DAYS with my friends. I've babysat precious little kids. I cannot complain one bit! :)

But, starting next week, I will be in TEACHER mode. I have orientation with my parents on the 9th, and our first half day is on August 13. I can't believe I'm actually a TEACHER. I'm no longer the student teacher who is under the guidance of a mentor teacher. I'm ON MY OWN and I won't lie, I'm a little nervous. BUT, I know that "I can do ALL things through CHRIST who strengthens me!" - Phil 4:13. 

My other 1st grade teacher is wonderful and very helpful. I know we are going to have a great year! I'm so excited to meet my students! 

On one hand, I'm sad that I won't be around my friends in college 24/7 like I used to, but I am happy to start this new chapter in my life. God has really blessed me!

My Review:

10/10!

First of all, these bars tasted VERY close to an actual cinnamon bun! I loved the texture. It was dense and chewy! I enjoyed the bits of walnuts sprinkled on top. This bar kept me full for a few hours! It was the perfect afternoon snack and post-workout fuel!

It was great mixed with ice for a simple smoothie, but if I was to try it again, I would add some fruit and yogurt to give it a little more pizazz! The interesting thing that I really tasted was CINNAMON. It was definitely something that I'd never tasted in a smoothie before. I drank this before my DANCE IT OUT workout and it made me energized and kept me full through my entire workout!

Protein Shakes

Vanilla - 10/10! This was SUPER smooth and creamy! It was like drinking a milkshake! 

Chocolate - 10/10! Jared LOVED this too! He drank one by itself and used another in his smoothie! 

Protein Bars

Yogurt Peanut Crunch - 10/10! The flavor was incredibly delicious! It was super peanut buttery on the inside and the outside had a yogurt layer. SUPER TASTY!!

Chocolate Peanut Butter - 10/10. Jared LOVES Chocolate & Peanut Butter together, so this bar was perfect for him!

Double Chocolate Crunch - 10/10. Another hit for the J-MAN!

My Review:

Cinnamon Swirl- 7/10. I drank this just mixed with water and it was very soupy. I didn't like the texture very much. (but, I didn't notice that it said to use only 8 oz. of water, instead of the usual 12 that all the other protein powders I've used before said...)

Strawberry & Vanilla - 8/10. These flavors tasted better because I used only 8 oz of water. :) 

Banana - 10/10! This was my favorite flavor! I used it with watermelon, cherries, and pineapple coconut yogurt for a YUMMY smoothie!!!

My Review:

Fast Charge - 3/10

Jared and I DID NOT like the taste of this at all. The idea is good for a quick boost, but we couldn't drink it because the taste was awful.

Endurance - 9/10

Jared liked the taste of the Endurance flavors. He had Fruit Punch, Lemon, and Mandarin Orange. These are perfect for him while he is out practicing on the golf course 6+ hours a day! He is looking forward to drinking these during his tournaments too! 

Amino Vital was also very generous and sent me some cool SWAG as well!

OH. MY. GOODNESS.

This protein powder is the best I've ever tried!!! It wasn't chalky at all. It was smooth and creamy. The flavors are OUTRAGEOUSLY delicious!

I tried the Cinnamon Bun first and it tasted just like a cinnamon bun in LIQUID form! 

The Cake Batter was amazing too! I seriously felt like I was drinking DESSERT!!! YUMMY!!!

Jared also loved the Rocky Road and Chocolate flavors!!!

Vacations Galore!!! :)

I've been on vacation for pretty much the whole month of July! It's been FABULOUS! Sorry I've been lacking in posts lately! Please forgive me!

First up, we went to Myrtle Beach for Jared's golf tournaments. He played in two events. 

Awww...how cute! We match ;)

His mom and I got pedicures, while Jared and his dad played a practice round in the middle of the week! It was pampering at it's best! 

There was definitely a new obsession formed... WEDDING CAKE FRO-YO! 

OH MY WORD. 

I thought Cake Batter tasted good... it's got NOTHING on Wedding Cake flavor!!!

YUUUUUUUM!!!

 We went to Broadway on the Boardwalk in Myrtle Beach. It was neat to walk around and see all the unique stores! We had fun!

HOW STINKIN' CUTE IS HE?!?!? 

After a week in Myrtle Beach, it was time to head to KY to attend a wedding. It was Jared's long time friend Megan and Joel! We had an absolute BLAST dancing the night away and we definitely made a few trips to the photo booth! ;)

My dad and Jared could NOT stop flying this toy helicopter!!! Boys and their toys... haha

Next, we headed back to TN for a few days to spend some time with my mom because unfortunately, she was not able to come to Florida with us because she had to work :( 

My mom is really starting to blossom in her photography skills! She took us to a park and got some cute pics!  

Finally, we went to Florida to vacation with my dad's side of the family. We had a bunch of fun! 

My little cousin, Zach, was very intrigued with my makeup application, hair drying and curling routine! haha

Love kids' laughter! My cousins are funny!

It was hard saying CYA LATER to Jared this morning, but that's part of being in a long distance relationship. We truly cherish the time that we do get to spend together. We've had a phenomenal summer!!! Next week, we are flying to attend his cousin's wedding! The fun never stops!

This protein was a little bit chalky and clumpy, but the taste was okay! I tried it in a yogurt mess with the first packet, but that was not the best tasting option for my tastebuds. Next time, I tried it in a smoothie and it tasted MUCH better! I liked that it only had 70 calories as opposed to a lot of other protein powders that have over 100!

Working Out on Vacation

What do you do when you are on vacation without a gym?

Well, Jared and I brought a few pieces of equipment WITH us and got our workout on inside the condo!!!

First up, we did some different exercises with the TRX, medicine ball, resistance band, foam roller, and our body weight. 

Works your upper back and biceps 

The TRX goes over the door and is great for working your back, shoulders, biceps, triceps, just depending on what moves you do.

Pushups with the resistance band (advanced move)  

Abs (we did straight forward and our knees to the side to work obliques)

Diamond Pushups (REALLY feel the burn in your triceps after this one!!!)

ABS ABS ABS! 

I'm so grateful for Jared showing me some awesome moves that you DON'T need a gym for! Previously, I would get TOTALLY bummed if we went on vacation without a gym. But, Jared has shown me SO many variations of exercises that you can do and it makes me shake up my routine, which has REALLY shown results! :) 

The other awesome advice that he has given me and has improved my overall health and fitness is to EAT PROTEIN like it's going out of style! I feel TEN TIMES stronger ever since we started dating and I've been eating more!!! If you missed my previous post about that, you can check it out here! Thanks babe! YOU ROCK!
